What is KarlMUN?

KarlMUN is a new and innovative Model United Nations (MUN) conference, that will take place from November 16th to 19th, 2017 at RWTH Aachen University, Germany.

During the conference, participants get the opportunity to slip into the role of an international delegate and represent the interests of their assigned nation in a UN committee. They engage in debates on the great challenges the international community is facing and work hard to pass resolutions that are in their nation’s best interests.

To find out more about KarlMUN visit About or take a look at last year’s conference on the  Archive page.

How to become a delegate?

If you want to become a delegate and be a part of KarlMUN 2017 you need to apply for the conference. The registration closes on October 6th 2017. After we have received your application and your participation fee, we will assign you a country, which you are going to represent as a delegate at KarlMUN.

What do we expect from our delegates?

To make sure our delegates are well prepared for the conference, we expect you to write position papers for the topics, that will be discussed in your comittee. The better you prepare the better you can discuss and the more fun you will have during the conference. Furthermore, we expect you to participate in all of your committee’s sessions and to be there on time. Finally, all our delegates need to comply with the dress code and the formalities.
However, our biggest expectation is for you to have fun!

What social events do we offer?

Apart from the work in the committees, we offer a framework program, that makes your visit at KarlMUN unique and unforgettable. It contains our culinary event ‘KarlMUN rocks’, several workshops and a party, where you can meet the other delegates in an informal atmosphere.

You can find out more about the program here or take a look at last year's supporting program in the Archive.

What is included in the participation fee?

The fee includes the participation in all official events at KarlMUN 2017:

KarlMUN rocks, workshops and seminars, the opening event, committee sessions, the Karl party, the closing event with the awarding ceremony and the catering (by request vegetarian or vegan).

Accommodation and traveling expenses are not included in the fee. Nevertheless, we try to find a free place to stay for you.
